Angela got in contact with us in regards to designing a new custom WordPress website for her business Firefly Lifecoaching. We met with Angela to discuss her brand and website requirements before moving forward with any design.
We are truly dedicated to creating brands that reflect the business and their values, and this is why we are so involved with the business owner throughout the process, but especially in the early stages of the protect!
We reviewed her current website and worked out what she liked, disliked and the functionality that it was missing.
We broke down the levels of information she wanted to have on the website and formed the loose navigation that would form the website structure.
The functional elements that were really important to her was the inclusion of a visually appealing blog, including images and videos, a signup form where she could automate emails with free information and newsletters.
We also discussed her ideal client, target audience and how she would get them to her website.
CREATING A LOGO AND BRANDING
After we nutted out the content and important functionality, we moved onto the visual side of things. As you know, at Daydream Creative we are very passionate about branding and logo design.
The logo needs to be professional, eye catching and appeal to your target market.
Angela had just had a logo designed from an online freelance design website but was not happy with the result. The typography was not appealing or very readable and the firefly icon was too harsh in shape and colour.
Angela explained what she had wanted and what she had briefed the original designer and asked us to redesign the logo for her. We also redeveloped a more relateable tagline!

BUSINESS CARDS, STATIONARY AND SOCIAL MEDIA ELEMENTS
With the logo settled on we also designed business cards and stationary for Firefly Lifecoaching.
We discussed who Angela would be giving the cards to, what they would remember from the card and what type of events she would be attending.
We advised Angela to include a photo of herself on the business card, as she is the face of the brand and after meeting her, the potential client can then look at the card after and immediately associate Firefly Lifecoaching to Angela and the positive experience / conversation they had with her.
We understand that including a photo of yourself on your business card might seem daunting, but you want people to remember you – so just do it!

We also designed social media page artwork for Firefly Lifecoaching. It is very important to keep your brand consistent across all media as it builds strength and trust in your business.
CUSTOM WEBSITE DESIGN
So, we had developed a strong brand, logo and colour pallet and were ready to design a new custom website!
We always start our custom sites with a blank canvas and build the layers up by incorporating the brand elements and photography.
We asked Angela to supply us with any photos she had of herself, clients or other elements that she wanted included in the website. We discussed the use of stock images but Angela wanted to use her own images to create a more authentic brand authority and ownership. We loved this!!
We always recommend our clients get professional photos or even just nice shots of themselves and of related business areas they want to showcase. We used imagery and photographs supplied by Angela and developed the colour scheme to create a balanced, relaxing and overall visually appealing website that would appeal to her target audience.
We also assisted Angela with content creation, setting up Mailchimp for her enewsletter signup and her YouTube account artwork.
The custom website design stays true to the brand we created and the values it stands for and creates an overall feeling of tranquility, relaxation and peacefulness – exactly what Firefly Lifecoaching can achieve for you.
